Across the room
Do I go over to
Say hi
As I mostly desire to do
Or do I
Keeping walking
You would think
I would go over but
Instead I ask someone
To take you
A note and leave.

As you finish reading
You hear
A gunshot
And you burst into
Tears for me
Your one and only
Love that you can’t have.
